Yes. We visit, look at your walls and send you a written quotation. There's no charge and no obligation to go ahead.
Do you cover my location?
Yes. We work all over Hong Kong Island, including Mid-Levels, Central, Sai Ying Pun, Kennedy Town, Happy Valley, Causeway Bay, Pok Fu Lam, Repulse Bay and Stanley, and in Discovery Bay. We also cover Kowloon, the New Territories, Sai Kung villages and the outlying islands.
Can you quote from photos?
Photos help us understand the job, but we give written quotations after a free on-site visit. Cracks, damp and old paint only show up properly in person.
What are your working hours?
We're open 8am to 10pm, 7 days a week. We always work within your building's rules on renovation hours.
Do you speak English?
Yes. Our foreman speaks English, so you can talk through the job, the colours and the timing in English. The team speaks Cantonese too.
Are you insured?
Yes. Brothers Painting is insured, and we cover floors and furniture before we start.
Will you keep my home clean?
Yes. We cover floors and furniture before we start, keep the work area tidy during the job and clean up when we finish.
Which paint brands do you use?
Any brand you choose, such as Nippon, Dulux, Jotun or Benjamin Moore. You can also supply your own paint.
Can I choose my own colours?
Yes. We talk colours with you at the site visit, and you make the final choice. If you already have a paint brand and colour code, we'll use it.
Can you match an existing colour?
Yes, but only when you give us the paint brand and colour code. We don't match colours by eye. Without the code, we'll help you choose a colour at the visit.
Are your painters in-house?
Yes. Our painters are our own in-house team, led by an English-speaking foreman.
Do I need to move out while you paint?
Usually not. We plan the order of rooms with you at the visit, so you can keep living at home for most jobs.
How long does painting a flat take?
It depends on the size, the condition of the walls and the drying time between coats. We'll talk through the timing with you at the site visit.
Will there be a smell?
Paint has some smell while it dries. Keeping windows open helps. How long it lasts depends on the paint and the airflow, and we'll give you practical advice for your rooms.
Can you get rid of mould stains?
We can repaint mould-stained walls, but the damp source has to be fixed first. Otherwise the stains come back.
Do you remove and install wallpaper?
Yes. We strip old wallpaper and repaint the wall, or hang new wallpaper that you choose.
Do you do waterproofing?
Yes. We apply waterproof coatings to roofs, balconies, planters and outside walls, after checking where the water is coming from.
Do you paint village houses and exteriors?
Yes. We paint village house exteriors, rooftops and balconies, including in Sai Kung villages and on the outlying islands.
I'm moving out. Can you work with my landlord or agent?
Yes. We do move-in and move-out repaints for tenants, landlords and agents. Tell us who holds the keys and when the flat must be ready, and we'll plan the visit and the work around that.
What about building management rules and lifts?
Tell us your building's rules on working hours, lift use and loading. We'll plan the work to fit them.
How can I pay?
By FPS, PayMe, bank transfer or cash.
Do you take a deposit?
Yes. We take a 50% deposit to confirm your booking. You can pay it by FPS, PayMe, bank transfer or cash.
What if something gets damaged?
We're insured. We also protect your home while we work: floors and furniture are covered before we start, and we clean up when we finish.
Do you only do painting?
